The Philippines as a base for Dunlop Slazenger By: Victor Agustin Inquirer News Service - Aug. 27, 2002

The Philippines has quietly become the leading manufacturer of Dunlop Slazenger brand tennis balls. The plant in Mariveles, town in Bataan has become the undisputed tennis ball center, the lone supplier of Dunlop Slazenger balls worldwide.

The Mariveles plant is now test-running a whole new line of machinery that came from a shuttered UK plant, which has been dismantled and shipped lock-stock-and-barrel to the Philippines. Their plant in Germany has closed down late last year and their operations have shifted to the Philippines, where, apparently, operations and turnaround time have become the worldwide model as far as Dunlop Slazenger empire is concerned.
