2003 Asia invest programme call for proposals
Board
of Investments is initiating a Call for Proposals, under
the Asia-Invest Programmed, for economic cooperation between
the EU and Asia.
Through
(a) business to business match-making activities between
EU and Asian countries (b) Asian private sector development
in the form of technical assistance; and (c) partnership-building
and capacity strengthening activities of Asian business
representatives, as well as networking and dialogue exchange
between public authorities and the private sector with
EU Counterparts.
The
Asia-Invest Programmed is a European Union initiative
to provide assistance to intermediary organizations in
order to facilitate mutually beneficial partnership between
companies, in particular, small and medium-sized enterprises
in the EU and South-East Asia and China. The aim of the
Programme is to strengthen the business environment and
increase trade and investment flows between the two regions.
The Program has entered a second phase of implementation
for 5 years (2003 to 2007) with a renewed European Commission
commitment of Euro Dollar 41 million. The maximum EC grant
support is set at 50% for Asia Enterprise (up to a maximum
of Euro Dollar 300,000) and Asia Invest Technical Assistance
(up to Euro Dollar 150,000) and 75% under Asia Invest
Alliance (up to Euro Dollar 200,000) for projects with
a maximum duration of 24 months. The remainder must, therefore,
be financed from the applicants and/or partners' own resources,
or from other external sources other the EC budget. Selected
