LAUNCHING CEREMONY OF THE RUBBER-BASED FARMING SYSTEM
DEMO FARM HELD AT DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, NAFC APACIBLE
CONFERENCE ROOM ON JANUARY 21, 2004
The
Launching Ceremony of PRIA Rubber-Based Farm was finally
launched last January 21, 2004 at the Department of Agriculture,
NAFC Conference Room. The Rubber Sub-Committee Officers
& Members attended the launching.
A
Memorandum of Agreement were signed by Mr. Elpidio Carlota,
PRIA president, Director Oscar Parawan, Director of Region
9, Department of Agriculture as donors and Ms. Josie Ladao
of Tire King, Sibugay, Zamboanga as Cooperator. Director
Oscar Parawan also represented the other 2 Cooperators
in the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement.
In
the Memorandum of Agreement, PRIA will donate P60,000
for the establishment of a 1 hectare each of the Rubber
Based Farm to 3 Cooperators for One Year, namely: Tire
King in Sibugay, Zamboanga, United Workers Agrarian Reform
Beneficiary Multi-Purpose Cooperative and Latuan Agrarian
Reform Beneficiary Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Basilan.
The 3 Cooperators will provide each 1 hectare of land,
labor and maintenance of the Rubber Based Model Farm.
Encourage and guide at least five farmers each in the
2 areas to adopt similar Rubber Based Farming System and
allow free access of other farmers to visit the farm and/or
conduct briefing about the project.
The
Department of Agriculture represented by Dir. Oscar Parawan
will provide the seedlings requirement of the Model Farm.
